STGCC 2013: Play Imaginative's Super Alloy Series!

09.10.2013 – There was so many surprises during the first day of STGCC 2013 but out of the pack special launches tops them all. One of these brands made a definite attention to convention visitors and that is Play Imaginative.

For this year they have expanded the Super Alloy Series not only for the DC characters but also acquiring the rights for Marvel as well in producing a new line of Iron Man action figures which was also makes this year’s STGCC deferred to having this sort of main theme for this year and that’s really screams at you when they opened those doors.

Marvel Universe: Guardians of the Galaxy!

08.28.2013 – The Guardians of the Galaxy is a superhero team that was formed during the devastation of the Annihilation: Conquest saga. But entirely the original team was first founded by Vance Astro in an alternate future that was published in 1969.

This modern take of the Guardians of the Galaxy is entirely a new roster led by Star Lord (Peter Quill), Drax the Destroyer, Gamora: The Most Dangerous Woman in the Universe, Groot and Rocket Raccoon which is going to be made into a live action film to be released in 2014.

Sighted: DM2 Agnes & Gru Collectors Edition!

07.05.2013 – The Minions may be sold out but for those who collect the Despicable Me 2 toys other than Gru’s henchman have a little chance to collect the other characters. Two additional action figures have been sighted yesterday.

They are the Collector’s Edition Gru and Agnes just like the three playful minions that were sold out prior to the release of the film these have the same electronic feature. Both figures have more than 30 movie lines based from the original and the sequel. Agnes stands at 11 inch while Gru stands at 14 inches which has a talk back interactive feature.

Sighted: Despicable Me 2 Toys & Happy Meal!

06.21.2013 – They have landed! Despicable Me 2 toys and merchandise has been sighted in one of the local stores in the Philippines. The minions are back with their mischievous antics that will definitely give Gru a major headache aside from being a new father to three little girls last seen in the first movie.

If it wasn’t bad enough to scream “Banana!” surely you will once you see these new action figures, plush toys, figurines and other merchandise related to the upcoming movie from Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures.

Unreleased Toys: Visionaries' Iron Mountain!

06.17.2013 – Visionaries is one of the original 1980s cartoon from the same produces who brought you G.I. Joe and Transformers. However the series only lasted for 13 episodes which were abruptly cancelled.

This goes the same with the comic books that Marvel published under the Star Comics banner which lasted 7 issues. What made this series popular is the toys that was tied up with the cartoon which was also manufactured by Hasbro. It came out with vehicles and what made interesting the holographic gimmick.

Sighted: The Wolverine from Hasbro!

06.16.2013 – More than a week ago The Wolverine merchandise has started appearing in toy stores across Metro Manila. Just like the being trained by the Japanese Samurai from Japan the toys slowly appeared on display.

The upcoming film looks promising but “The Wolverine” merchandise particularly the 4 inch action figures where somewhat a little underwhelming which is similar to “The Amazing Spider-Man” that has lack in quality compared to when the X-Men Origins came out some five years ago.

TMNT 2012 Basic: Donatello!

06.10.2013 – If you haven’t seen the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle animated series on Nickelodeon you must be living under the rock. The new series that debut in the US last year had a brand new set of action figures, play sets, vehicles, and even role play toys that you can choose from the four turtles with their signature weapons.

But mostly the toys have major interest being a tie-up of the new animated series. If you haven’t seen any of the basic figures lately chances are they are already sold out and it would likely be impossible to get at least one of the four turtles.

Sighted: MM Man of Steel Wave 2!

06.09.2013 – There’s a new set of Man of Steel action figures that Mattel has released for their Movie Masters series. If the previous set was not as interesting as the upcoming film’s character then you might look harder for these new versions of the characters.

Superman most likely the common in the bunch in the first series release did not come with any accessory save that not to the mysterious “Kryptonian Key” that would largely play a role in the film. It came with the same figure as before packaged in a different pose which is chained to the artifact.

TMNT 2012 Basic: Michelangelo!

06.06.2013 – The New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that’s now available in Philippine retails has started moving out of the shelves into the fans and collectors who have followed the franchise since the first cartoon came out in 1988.

The popularity of the latest CG animated series from Nickelodeon has brought new fans that are now getting their hands on the action figures as well as the vehicles and the playsets. The most sought after collectibles in the toy line is the basic 4 inch figures wave 1 series. Previously we had the opportunity to feature Raphael and Leonardo.

Sighted: Thundercats on Clearance!

06.03.2013 – It’s been clearance for the past months that started with the basic figures which was originally retailed at PhP 599.75 pesos. The four inch figures from the very first wave with the exception of Lion-O went down to PhP 300.00 pesos late last year.

Now that Warner Bros. Animation has officially canceled the new series which lasted 26 episodes for one season leaving a cliffhanger that revealed much more potential for the show. The toys by Bandai didn't took off as what you’d expect but fans of the classic series was hoping the release of the original cartoon characters would expand.

TMNT 2012 Basic: Leonardo!

05.24.2013 – There are super teams and then we have the heroes in the half shells. For every group or a team there’s one leader. Optimus Prime to the Autobots, then we have Duke in G.I. Joe, Lion-O in Thundercats, and here we have Leonardo from Nickelodeon’s latest hit with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Previously Raphael the Sai wielding bad turtle of the group gets featured with all the fine details of the action figure from Playmates Toys. Now take a look at the fearless Samurai slicing leader of the ninja turtles!

02.21.2013 – The Iron Man 3 promotional starts with the released of the merchandise and what not. If you are an avid enthusiast then this might be to your liking regardless of any form that can be related to the upcoming film.

The huge popularity of Iron Man that began almost 5 years ago is a stat of bigger things either good or bad. The popularity of this character is only rivaled to DC’s Batman which had recently ended its trilogy in 2012. But for Iron Man this is just a beginning not only in the films but in sales of its merchandise.

10.01.2012 – Graham Norton Show is popular in the UK and North America with his humor and some geeky related topics that feature some of the popular actors and personalities from movies and television and early this year one episode would definitely caught your attention.

STGCC 2012: Falcon's Hanger feat. Thunderscats!

09.03.2012 – Falcon’s Hanger one of the exhibitors who participated in the recently concluded Singapore To Game and Comic Convention (STGCC) not only have a booth promoting their store they are the ones who brought in the an exclusive.

This particular exclusive is based from an episode of the classic series from the 1980s which prompt them release a red version of the Lion-O 8” figure which eventually reveals to be Mumm-Ra the Thundercats’ powerful nemesis.

The Unreleased Thundercats Toys in the Philippines!

07.06.2012 – If the planet of Thundera is doomed in the original series what happens now after the first season of the Thundercats has ended last month? There was still licensed merchandise coming out even though the series as loomed in limbo.

Bandai the toy manufacturer who brought back the toys has gone and released a third wave of those 4” and 6” inch action figures. The Philippines only got the first wave since last April courtesy of Bankee Trading which is the toy distributor for all Bandai products.
